India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has reacted to Ben Duckett’s comment made by the England batsman during the recently concluded Test series between the teams. He said he doesn’t want to say anything about it and focuses on what he does best.

Yashavi Jaiswal was one of the main reasons why India dominated the Test series against England. The batsman, despite being young, carried the Indian batting line-up and was by far the best batsman of the series as he oozed class in every game and helped India win.

Yashasvi Jaiswal played aggressive cricket throughout the series and gave England a taste of their own medicine. The batsman ensured that India got off to a valiant start in all the games and broke quite a few records in the five games that were played.

Yashasvi Jaiswal made a mark in the first game of the series by scoring 80 runs in the first game. After that, he followed it up with two double centuries and then concluded the series with two half-centuries in the last two games.

While Yashasvi Jaiswal was doing very well in the series, England batsman Ben Duckett made a big statement related to the batsman. He said that the way he played the Indian batsman, England deserved a lot of credit for that. He had stated after the Rajkot test:

“When you see opposition players playing like that, it almost seems like we should take credit that they are playing differently to how other people play Test cricket. We saw it a bit in the summer and it’s very exciting to see other players and other teams also playing that aggressive style of cricket.”

Now, after the series finale, Yashasvi Jaiswal reacted to Ben Duckett’s comment and flatly ignored it without paying much attention. He said he just wants to try to do whatever he wants. Speaking to Indian Express, he explained:

“I don’t want to say anything about it. I just need to try to do everything I can on the ground that says the best I can do.”

Those shots were on my mind: Yashasvi Jaiswal on hitting three consecutive sixes off James Anderson

Yashasvi Jaiswal showed no mercy to the England bowlers. One of the highlights of the series was batsman James Anderson hitting three consecutive sixes in the Rajkot Test. While talking about the same, he said that he had those shots in mind because he was at the top of his game.

Yashasvi Jaiswal further added that he always tries to give his best against any bowler he faces. Speaking about the same, he explained:

“Those shots were in my mind. I knew I could hit him when I got ready. I had in mind that when I’m at the top of my game, I’ll catch him. Get it in the sense, not just him, but any bowler. If I go after someone, I will do it 100 percent.”

Yashasvi Jaiswal finished the series as the top runner and remained a long distance from the second leader. He amassed 712 runs to his name and became the second Indian team player to score more than 700 runs in the bilateral Test series.
