SRH went into the IPL 2025 auction with clear plans.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) went into the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) auction with clear plans after retaining the core group around which the team would be formed.
They mainly focused on getting a good mix of Indian talents, with a strong foreign squad that the franchise already retains ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.
Led by Australian all-rounder Pat Cummins, let’s take a look at the top 4 foreign player options who will feature in the SRH playing XI for IPL 2025.

Pat Cummins
Australian all-rounder and team captain Pat Cummins will undoubtedly be the franchise’s first foreign pick. He joined the franchise last year during the mini-auction for a record fee of Rs 20.5 crore and guided the team to the finals, where they lost to the eventual winners, Kolkata Knight Riders.
Cummins was further retained ahead of the IPL 2025 auction for INR 18 crore and will be an integral part of SRH’s plans in the upcoming season.
travis head
Explosive Australian opener Travis Head is another Aussie star who is an automatic pick in the SRH lineup. Like Cummins, Head was also bought during the IPL 2024 auction and SRH decided to keep him by retaining him for INR 14 crore.
The dynamic left-hander was one of the main architects of SRH’s batting carnage last season, where they posted the team’s highest total twice, breaking their own record. Furthermore, Head finished as SRH’s top scorer with a total of 567 runs, including one century and four fifties, at a blistering pace of 191.55.
Heinrich Klaasen
The Proteas wicketkeeper-batsman has proven his usefulness for SRH and the franchise decided to pay him up by making Klaasen the most expensive retainer of all the teams at a staggering INR 23 crore.
Klaasen can play the role of finisher to perfection and has the ability to change the outcome of the game single-handedly with his relentless striking. Klaasen has incredible firepower in SRH’s middle order and the franchise will once again rely heavily on him to deliver the goods.
Adam Zampa
Another Australian, Adam Zampa, occupies the last available place abroad. Interestingly, he is the only player in this list who was bought in the IPL 2025 auction. Zampa is a skilled spinner capable of outclassing even the best batsmen and along with his consistency and variations, makes the 32-year-old a lethal option to take ground.
Zampa is a proven contender in the IPL and his best figures of 6/19 came while playing for SRH in 2016. Since his debut in 2016, Zampa featured in 14 matches and claimed 21 wickets at an impressive average of 17.62.
