Kolkata Knight Riders started their eighth game after a winning outing against Rajasthan Royals in the last game in a humiliating manner, losing too many wickets early in the game. The batsmen failed to counter Mohsin Khan and had lost half the team in the first 11 overs.
After a slow start to his innings, Rinku, who held his nerve in that shaky KKR batting order, gave it back to the LSG bowlers in the last three overs as he smashed some runs off Mohammed Shami and targeted Digvesh Rathi especially at the death.

Rinku Singh has once again shown flashes of his great form this time in Ekana as he threatened to reclaim his own previous IPL record from 2023. He scores 24 runs off four balls off Digvesh Rathi, who was smashed for six in a row.
Rinku managed to score more than 50% of the team’s overall runs and scored 155 runs at the end of his 20 overs and scored loads of runs in the final fifty-over partnership along with Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Sunil Narine.
Rinku backed up his match by winning a half-century in the previous innings and scored 81 runs in this match as well, while the team managed to score only 155 runs. Cameron Green was the second highest scorer with 34 runs.

Kolkata Knight Riders collapse under pressure; What changes are necessary to recover?
Kolkata Knight Riders’ biggest concern has been their string of low scores in the powerplay. With Knight Riders still under enormous pressure, they should consider Rachin Ravindra as the New Zealand all-rounder at the top of the order.
Secondly, Tejasvi Dahiya, the wicketkeeper batsman, could replace Ramandeep Singh in KKR’s batting order. This could add some reliability to the batting order. On the other hand, Sunil Narine could finally return to the top to add that touch to the powerplay that KKR has been missing this season.
The middle-order that has been struggling a lot could become reliable with the addition of players like Manish Pandey or Rahul Tripathi, who are seasoned campaigners in the IPL. The bowling now looks tidier and would be strengthened with the return of Matheesha Pathirana.
KKR are on a must-win mission to keep their playoff hopes alive
Rinku Singh’s record innings has become a rescue innings for Kolkata Knight Riders. The team has seven games left to play this season and needs to win at least 6 of them to keep their qualification hopes alive.
However, Kolkata will have to defend that small total against the LSG batsmen who, despite being big names, have lacked form in this edition of the competition. Despite everything, they would need an extraordinary performance from their players to secure those 2 points in this match.
