Praful Hinge made a dream debut on April 13 for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the ongoing TATA Indian Premier League 2026 (TATA IPL 2026). His one spell against Rajasthan Royals (RR) changed Praful Hinge’s life overnight but his post-match statement did not go down well with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

Hinge picked up four wickets on debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad, and three of those wickets came in his first over. His first victims included the dangerous Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, followed by Dhruv Jurel and Lhuan-dre Pretorius. Later, he also removed RR captain Riyan Parag.

However, it was Vaibhav’s wicket that was special for the SRH pacer as the young batsman had been in top form and had already decided to target the RR opener with a specific plan.

After winning the Man of the Match award, Hinge had said, “Sooryavanshi was my favorite wicket. I had told people that I would bowl a bouncer on it and get it out. I just wanted to get it out.”

The SRH bowler later revealed that he had dismissed Vaibhav with a bouncer in an Under-23 game, so he wanted to follow the same plan that the youngster likes to attack every delivery.

Varun Aaron’s trick worked for Hinge against Vaibhav

He shared his plan with SRH coaches, but bowling coach Varun Aaron asked him to try a different line for a ball.

That change worked perfectly and he got the big wicket exactly as they had planned. Hinge stated: “I wanted to bowl him from around the wicket, but he (Aaron) asked me to go over the wicket to bowl a ball and I got him out with that same ball. So we were both very happy.”

But Vaibhav Sooryavanshi took the perfect revenge in the reverse match on April 25. This time, the left-handed batsman brutally attacked Hinge and smashed four consecutive sixes in his first over. He then smashed a record century but could not save RR from facing a five-wicket defeat to SRH.

The left-handed batsman said he had a clear plan to attack Hinge after seeing a lot of things on social media. So, he decided to respond to everything with his batting.

Vaibhav told RR manager Romi Bhinder in an IPL video: “I went with a clear plan against the bowler. After getting out in the last match, I came back and checked my phone. I saw a lot of things being said about me. Normally I don’t pay attention to such things, but when someone says something to me personally, it affects me a little. I just wanted to respond with my bat.”

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Shares Crucial Fitness Update

The RR opener also shared his update on his fitness as he had to leave the field after suffering cramps midway through SRH’s innings in Jaipur.

He said goodbye saying: “It’s fine now. I feel better. I don’t know, my foot got stuck. I already had a problem with my ankle, so in order not to exert too much force, I pulled my hamstring. But now it’s better. I’ll recover in time for the next game.”
