Veteran Gujarat pacer Mohit Sharma did not have a good day against Delhi Capitals as Rishabh Pant smoked him all over the park in the DC vs GT clash. Rishabh Pant led his Delhi Capitals team from the front against Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. He scored an unbeaten 88 runs to guide DC to a grand total of 224/4 in 20 overs after GT won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Rishabh Pant came out to bat in the sixth over after DC lost three wickets for just 44 runs. Sandeep Warrier dismissed Jake Fraser-McGurk (23), Prithvi Shaw (11) and Shai Hope (5) cheaply to put GT in the driving seat. DC captain and Axar Patel did not allow GT to capitalize on the early gains by sharing a 113-run stand for the fourth wicket.

The partnership came to an end on the last ball of the 17th over when Noor Ahmad dismissed Axar for 66 runs. Axar’s knock came off 43 balls and was studded with five fours and four sixes. Rishabh Pant was hitting 48 off 32 balls at the time before deciding to shift gears.

After scoring 48 runs off 32 balls, Rishabh Pant scored as many as 40 runs in the last 11 deliveries he faced. And the bowler who took the batting whirlwind from the DC captain was Mohit Sharma. In the 18th over, Rishabh Pant hit the pacer for a six to complete his fifty before blowing him away in the final over.

He hit Mohit Sharma for 30 runs and the pacer ended up conceding 31 while also bowling wide. On the first ball of the over, Rishabh Pant hit a double before Mohit Sharma bowled wide. The DC star then scored a six and a four in the second and third installments respectively. In the last three balls, Pant hit Mohit Sharma for three sixes in a row to take his team to a total of over 220.
