Jake Fraser-McGurk, on Tuesday (May 7), literally started his innings on a painful note when he was hit at the crease in the first over of the ongoing game between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bowl first. Abishek Porel and Jake Fraser-McGurk opened the innings for Delhi Capitals. The young Australian faced the first ball of the game with Trent Boult opening the bowling for the Royals.

On the first ball, he took a double before being beaten on the second. The third ball hit Jake Fraser-McGurk on the bag as Boult worried him with his line and length. And on the fourth ball, the veteran New Zealander hit the right-hand batsman right on the crease, leaving him in great pain.

The physiotherapist ran in as Jake Fraser-McGurk fell to the ground and looked in pain after the blow. Fortunately, he managed to recover quickly and continued batting. He responded to the painful blow in style by hitting Boult’s next delivery for a four.

Talking about the game, DC were 31 without loss at the end of the third over. Jake Fraser-McGurk brought Boult to cleanliness in the third over, hitting the left-arm pacer for two fours and a six.

Delhi Capitals expect crucial win:

The Delhi Capitals will be desperate for a win tonight to stay in the playoff race. With five defeats and six defeats so far, they are currently in sixth place in the points table and cannot afford any more mistakes. With the playoff race heating up, DC will look to win the three remaining league games to bolster their playoff chances.
