Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson has been at his animated best in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Delhi Capitals (DC). The 56th match of the tournament between both teams will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has done a decent job as captain in the ongoing match against Delhi Capitals. The wicketkeeper-batsman has made brilliant bowling changes that have allowed his team to take wickets at regular intervals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Sanju Samson also constantly guided his players behind the stumps while relaying their innings. However, at the end of the ninth over, the Rajasthan Royals captain looked frustrated after Riyan Parag conceded a six off Axar Patel off the last ball.

Riyan Parag bowled a delivery in the slot which was hit by Axar Patel at long on. Sanju Samson did not seem happy with that as he was seen muttering something in frustration. This was probably due to the bowler’s failure to close the over at the top.

Coming into the match, Delhi Capitals were asked to bat first and they had a great outing with the bat. Jake Fraser-McGurk (50) and Abishek Porel (65) got the team off to a great start and put pressure on the opposition. Rajasthan Royals bounced back incredibly well by picking up quick wickets.

However, in the end, it was Tristan Stubbs who made sure to end the innings on a high. The Proteas batsman came out with all guns blazing and attacked the Rajasthan Royals bowlers. He played a sensational innings of 41 runs in just 20 balls and Delhi Capitals posted a total of 221 runs on the board.

For Rajasthan Royals, Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 3/24. Apart from him, Trent Boult, Sandeep Sharma and Yuzvendra Chahal picked a wicket each at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

I have been working on some things – Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin, who oozes class with the ball, spoke about his spell and stated that he is working on a few things. He admitted that Delhi Capitals have posted an even total on the board and also shared his thoughts on the future of T20 cricket. In statements to the stations, he explained:

“You don’t bowl a full delivery and get a wicket on the first delivery! I’m not complaining. I’ve been working on a few things. Trying different angles, different deliveries. I would say 220 is about par. I think we’ll have more and more baseball players playing T20 in the future!”

The team led by Sanju Samson would be eager to chase the goal and win their ninth game of the season. If they manage to win the game, they will become the first team to qualify for the playoffs, since they will then add 18 points.
