Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody has provided an interesting analysis of the ICC World Test Championship final ahead of its start. The grand final will be played at The Oval from June 7-11 and one between India or Australia will be crowned the new World Test Champions.
Speaking to ESPN Cricinfo, Tom Moody said that depending on the timing of the Test match and the general conditions in England, the bowlers will have an advantage over the best. He also endorsed Mitchell Starc to be the maximum impact pitcher in the World Trials Championship Final.

Test match timing gives players the advantage: Tom Moody
“I think just the timing of this particular Test match in England, in early June, where the bowlers tend to get help with general conditions and also the pitch is a bit livelier than it was at the end of the summer, I’m giving a kind of tip. the bowlers to have an advantage over the batsmen. So in this case, I think Starc is going to win the battle.” Moody said.
He also backed Indian skipper Rohit Sharma to rediscover his form in the WTC final. Rohit was sadly out of shape during the IPL season. Although he scored two point fifty on the season, more often than not he was sacked on the cheap. Furthermore, he classified Rohit Sharma as a world class hitter.

“It’s going to be interesting. Rohit Sharma is coming off a modest IPL season by his standards. But international cricket and Test cricket are a very different playing field. We know the world class hitter that is Rohit Sharma.” Moody said.

Australia made their first WTC final topping the points table with 152 points from 19 games. India finished in second place and qualified for the final with 127 points from 18 matches.
This is the second consecutive WTC India final. They lost to New Zealand in the previous final at Southampton in 2021. This is also the first final between India and Australia in all formats since the 2003 ODI World Cup Final in South Africa.
