I am 35 years oldndia national cricket team Batsman Ajinkya Rahane suffered an injury to the index finger on his right hand on Day 2 of the ICC World Test Championship Final against the Australia National Cricket Team at Kennington Oval in London on Thursday 8 June.

Rahane suffered the injury when Australian captain Cummins delivered a nasty pitch that caught the batsman’s fingers. On the last ball of the 22nd, the lethal right-arm pacer tossed the ball a good length and it was forming back into the right.

Ajinkya Rahane had taken a small step forward in defense and banged her fingers when she couldn’t play her shot. The veteran hitter was wincing after the hit and immediately called for medical attention.

The physio ran onto the field instantly to examine the extent of the injury in the hope that things weren’t serious. Rahane was treated for quite some time and there was a long delay in the match. Meanwhile, Rahane continued to bat with a badly bandaged index finger after taking the hit.

Watch Ajinkya Rahane cops a nasty bang

Overall, Australia have dominated the first two days of the ICC World Test Championship Final. After being invited to bat first, they posted a mammoth 469 runs on the board aided by sensational performances from explosive batsman Travis Head and modern day big hitter Steve Smith.

While bowling on Day 2, the Australian bowlers did an excellent job of removing India’s leading order early. Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli did not perform in the high-profile match for India.

Ravindra Jadeja and Ajinkya Rahane steadied the ship and added 71 runs off 100 balls. However, Nathan Lyon cleaned out Jadeja for 48 to send India back on the defensive once again. At Stumps, India were at 151/5 and trailing by 318 runs.
