In a massive push to India national cricket team In the World Cup year, top pacer Jasprit Bumrah and star batsman Shreyas Iyer are expected to make their grand comeback in the upcoming T20I series against Ireland, according to reports in the Indian Express. Bumrah was last seen in action on September 25, 2022 against Australia, and has since been out of action with a back injury. He underwent surgery in March before traveling to the NCA for rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer last played for India in the final test match of the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, he was unable to bat for India in that game due to his lower back injury.

Bumrah has reportedly started bowling at full speed in the nets, where he is delivering 8-10 overs. Bumrah is nearing a full recovery and could return to action in the Ireland T20I series on 18, 20 and 23 August. Before his international return, the pacemaker could also participate in some practice matches in the NCA.

Meanwhile, there was a question mark over Prasidh Krishna’s return in time for the World Cup. However, the pacer has started bowling regularly on the nets and although he might miss the tour of Ireland, he is expected to feature in India’s squad for the 2023 Asia Cup, according to Indian Express.

Speaking of Iyer, the middle-order hitter has made a full recovery and has started hitting in the nets. Most likely, he will travel with Jasprit Bumrah to Ireland for the series.
