In an interaction with The Guardian, Ben Duckett said the Australians would hate to face Wood. He said:

“I also know for a fact that Australia will not want Woody to play these last two games. It’s so weird; How does he bowl so fast? He’s not a big guy, he’s just arm speed I guess. He is so slippery and always with you, so I am very happy that he is on my team”.

The way he hit them with the bat changed the game: Ben Duckett on Mark Wood

The England opener added that the way Wood batted in the third Test was absolutely game-changing. He stated:

“And it’s not just with the ball, the way he faced them with the bat changed the game.”

Duckett acknowledged that Australia are a good team, but labeled them “a bunch of good guys” led by “one of the best guys”, Pat Cummins. He said:

“My opinion of the Australian team is that it is a very, very good team. But they are a lot of good guys. Pat Cummins seems like one of the nicest guys in cricket. If he threw 90 mph like he did, it would give the hitter a lot more talk. But he doesn’t feel like they’re trying to intimidate anyone, they’re just focusing on his abilities. It is nice.”

Ben Duckett further spoke about the entertaining approach to England’s Bazball. He elaborated:

“Two years ago, some of the shots I play would have been unacceptable. It’s amazing what you can do when you take away your fear of failure. That’s the most important thing, I’m not trying to make people think I’m the best opener in England, I’ll stick with what I’m doing and have a much better chance than if I try to be something I’m not. .”

The fourth Test between England led by Ben Stokes and Australia led by Pat Cummins will be played from 19-23 July. The match will take place at Old Trafford, Manchester.
