TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match no. 45 was between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). It was the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader. This was the reverse matchup, as SRH won the last game these two teams met this season. However, this time KKR outplayed the Orange Army, winning the game by 7 wickets.
Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first in a day game, while SRH made two changes, Harshal Patel and Smaran Ravichandran replacing Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harsh Dubey. KKR also made some changes, with Tim Seifert and Ramandeep Singh making way for Finn Allen and Manish Pandey.

After electing to bat first, Orange Army openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma got off to a good start, scoring 10-overs. However, Sharma was dismissed for 15 runs; However, Head continued to fire and kept the run rate high, scoring his fifty in 22 balls and was dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy for 61 runs.
Ishan Kishan also fired from the other end, and Heinrich Klaasen, who didn’t get going, was dismissed by a stunning one-handed catch from Rovman Powell in the 11-run score, then followed debutant Smaran Ravichandran, who returned for a four-run stand. The wickets kept coming and Chakravarthy picked three wickets for 36 runs.
Sunil Narine picked his 200th IPL wicket playing for a single franchise, KKR, while he picked Salil Arora, and then in the same over, Kishan followed him with a score of 42 runs. Cummins also failed to create much trouble and was picked by Anukul Roy. They couldn’t even play the full 20 overs and were bowled out for 165 in 19 overs.
While chasing, KKR got off to a fiery start, with Finn Allen playing a knock of 29 off 13 deliveries, and hitting all over the park, but was dismissed in the same as he took charge against Pat Cummins. Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi then kept the runs flowing as KKR scored 71/1 in the powerplay.
The two put together a partnership of fifty runs in 32 balls and reached the 100-run mark in 9.2 overs. The two then continued to score runs as Angrkish added to his half-century in 39 balls. Rahane was dismissed for 43 runs, and then Raghuvanshi was dismissed for 59 runs. The Knights sealed the match, achieving three straight victories.
