Delhi Capitals will look for a much-needed victory tonight when they take on Gujarat Titans in the 32nd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The national capital team’s campaign has yet to reach its peak. As a result, the team currently finds itself at the bottom of the points table with only two wins in six matches. They started their season with two losses in a row before winning the third game against reigning champions Chennai Super Kings to achieve the goal in style.

However, the Rishabh Pant-led team could not build on the winning momentum and suffered defeats in the next two games. In their last match, they registered a much-needed win over Lucknow Super Giants. It was an impressive win for DC and they will look to make the most of the momentum against GT.

David Warner not available:

While DC would be desperate for a win tonight against the Gujarat Titans, they will have to do so without their former captain and star opener David Warner. Captain Rishabh Pant confirmed at the toss that the veteran batsman would not play the game.

The Australian star is sidelined with a finger injury. He suffered the injury while batting in the last game against Lucknow Super Giants. DC has called up all-rounder Sumit Kumar in their playing eleven.

“We will bowl first. It is an unknown wicket, our batting is strong and we would like to chase it, there could also be some dew in the second innings. We will have to play some good cricket, playing only one match at a time,” said Rishabh Pant after winning the toss.

“The death bowling has been a bit worrying, but at the same time, the players are improving with each match. We are looking to gain some momentum. We are playing almost the same team: David Warner is out, Sumit Kumar is back,” he added.

With Warner sidelined, Jake Fraser-McGurk is likely to open the innings for DC against GT. The young Australian made his IPL debut in the last match against LSG and got to work scoring fifty goals to win the match.

DC playing XI:

Prithvi Shaw, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Tristan Stubbs, Shai Hope, Rishabh Pant (w/c), Axar Patel, Sumit Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Mukesh Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed
