Nothing has gone well for the CSK captain, while miseries continue to pile on top of each other. He dropped off a babysitter at Anshul Kamboj’s bowling alley and handed Sunil Narine a huge life preserver.
Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has had a miserable season with the Super Kings. His batting form has been a major concern for the franchise after he lost runs despite opening the innings on five occasions.
To add to the misery, the CSK captain looked clueless on the field as his players were smashed for runs. This time around, he has missed out on an absolute nanny despite having a reputation as one of the safest defenders in the Super Kings camp.
Ruturaj Gaikwad adds to his miseries and drops an absolute babysitter
Chennai Super Kings had already taken a good control of the game, with Anshul Kamboj hitting the new ball in his first over of the game. He ruled out the dangerous Finn Allen, who also continues his streak of low scores.
Sunil Narine was promoted to open the innings alongside Allen as Abhishek Nayar might be looking to use his hitting ability early in the powerplay. The West Indies batsman started with a six but then bowled a ball towards the midfielder.
Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad stayed in that position and dropped what could be called the easiest catch for any international cricketer. However, lack of confidence could be the factor as Gaikwad dropped the absolute sitter, denying Kamboj the second wicket. The captain gave Sunil Narine an early lifeline.

Khaleel attacks as Sunil Narine departs in the next over
Chennai Super Kings’ left-handed bowling star Khaleel Ahmed has been doing wonders with the new ball. The variety he produces with the new ball is truly exceptional, and the captain backed him by a third in the match against KKR.
Khaleel bowled two economical overs to start the innings and then bowled a perfect yorker to Sunil Narine while trailing him when Narine tried to make room through off-side.
Narine edged the ball despite a full swing of the bat and the fielder caught it at short third man region. Gurjapneet Singh also made no mistake this time and judged his catch perfectly. It marked a moment of relief for captain Ruturaj Gaikwad.
CSK continues its poor performance at Chepauk ground
The Chennai Super Kings continued their nerve-wracking outing at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, a ground that was once known as their most valuable hideout. Ruturaj Gaikwad started by dropping an absolute sitter, and the defenders followed their captain’s lead.
Dewald Brevis, the young South African often known as one of the world’s most acrobatic fielders, also missed a catch, but not very easily. Angkrish Raghuvanshi pushed one towards the mid-on fence, and Brevis covered a lot of ground to reach the ball.
However, he jumped in the air to grab that ball out of nowhere, and the ball hit his palm and bounced over the mid-wicket boundary for a six. Raghuvanshi also received a lifeline from the CSK groundsman.
