Sunrisers Hyderabad had to extend their winning streak and had it not been for former stand-in captain Ishan Kishan, they would have never managed to get back to their winning streak in the first match of the season after three opening defeats in the season.
Kishan almost gently revamped the team by bringing in many young and dynamic fast bowlers into the team after the experienced ones failed to produce results for them. That’s when these hitters changed the course of the game and the pitchers surprisingly backed them up.
Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Ishan Kishan helped the Orange Men chase the massive score as they faced Rajasthan Royals for the second time in this IPL season. They had started their winning streak against the same rival at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Ishan Kishan’s winning knock helped them get a total of 229 runs.
The left-handed batting maestro from the Sunrisers camp helped them achieve a huge total while maintaining his impressive form from the ICC T20 World Cup. Kishan was India’s best batsman before Sanju Samson took over in India’s last three matches.
Ishan Kishan has continued his impressive form in this IPL season as he scored 80 against RCB in the opening game and then scored his next two half-centuries against the Royals where he returned with two scores of 91 and 74.
Ishan Kishan has scored runs at a strike rate of over 200 and has bowled the ball to all parts of the field in a proper partnership alongside Abhishek Sharma. Kishan was then chosen as the player of the match.
He is a tremendous captain- Ishan Kishan
“No, I think as a wicketkeeper I also do the same job. We were able to restrict them to less than 230, and we were able to do that. It was a lot of fun leading the team for 7 games. He is a tremendous captain, so I was just thinking about my batting and keeping,” Kishan revealed while talking about Pat Cummins.
“You have to play your shots and not be afraid. I think it was pretty fast and had more bounce than I expected; luck favors the brave. We were pretty calm and you have to have a good power play.
“I have been communicating with Abhishek about what is happening and what the running pace is. Calm is about looking at the ball and being predetermined; it is a big ground and there will be big spaces. When the ball is not there, then you can push it and maintain the running speed. No, I think the best is yet to come,” he added.
Sunrisers Hyderabad move to third position in the IPL points table
Sunrisers Hyderabad have managed to win four matches in a row after starting their winning streak against the Royals at their home at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
Since then, Abhishek Sharma has been in very good touch as he scored two half-centuries and a century in the last three innings for the Sunrisers. They have now risen to the third position due to their higher net run rate. They have won the same number of matches as the Rajasthan Royals, although they have also played the same number of matches.
