Vaibhav Sooryavanshi responds to ‘AI bat’ jokes with hilarious cover after win against PBKS

The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has crossed the halfway stage, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi now leading the top run-scorer table with 400 runs in the competition. The 15-year-old sensation is dominating the cash-rich league with his phenomenal batting display. Vaibhav has been the youngest cricketer to score a century in the IPL last season.

This season, the left-hander has also arrived in tremendous form and has been hitting the ball fantastically. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored a brilliant century off 36 balls in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). In the innings, he smashed 12 sixes and five boundaries. Currently, no one has a faster bat speed than Vaibhav in world cricket.

Watching the teenage sensation’s innings against SRH, Pakistan cricket analyst Nauman Niaz accused him of installing an artificial intelligence chip in his bat to increase power. This came after the wonderkid lit up the IPL with his sensational power hitting against some of the best bowlers in the world. He has already hit a first-ball six off Jasprit Bumrah, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins.

God has given it – Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Now, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, after again playing 43 runs off 13 balls last night and helping RR win against Punjab Kings last night, has responded to Nauman’s comments.

“God has put something in him (bat). I had already said from above that I will give you something in your bat; I am just using that),” Vaibhav said in a video shared by Rajasthan Royals on X.

Jai-Soorya is creating fear among his opponents

The duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has created fear among the opposition as the two left-handed batsmen have gone all out from the first ball. In the last match, they also raised their fifty in just three overs and set the stage for the chase.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, after RR’s win, said in the post-match interview about her teammate Sooryavanshi: “Of course, he is amazing. I really enjoyed batting with him and he is playing amazing. So I am always happy to see the other end, the way he hits the ball. (As he is the eldest in the partnership with Sooryavanshi), I don’t think so.”

“I’m older. I’m still very young, but of course, the way he is and he’s quite young. So, to be honest, I don’t know what to say about it. (Plan for the chase?) Of course, we knew it’s a high-scoring ground. So we have to stay intentional and we have to go when we feel like it.”

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is creating records

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s T20 sixes total has risen to 99. He is currently just one ball away from becoming the world’s fastest batsman to hit 100 sixes in the shortest format of the game.

He will surely break some records in this IPL and become the Emerging Player of the Season and will also compete for the Most Valuable Player of the Season.
