Was Romi Bhinder saved? Rajasthan Royals manager’s case unlikely to prompt major action

Rajasthan Royals received a big relief when manager Romi Bhinder could get away with a slight penalty or even a slight warning after a show cause by the BCCI Anti-Corruption board. This happened after a viral moment in which he was seen carrying a mobile phone to the bench during a live match.

Rajasthan Royals have been in unstoppable form in this edition of the IPL. However, despite their good form, some external concerns have threatened the team’s integrity. The Royals have already taken a major blow to their reputation, having previously been banned for two seasons over a match-fixing accusation.

The recent fiasco that took place involved team manager Romi Bhinder, who was caught using a mobile phone in the RR dugout. He was seen using the device while sitting next to RR youngster Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who should be taught to be disciplined by his seniors in the team.

No serious action will be taken against Rajasthan Royals coach

Romi Bhinder is the manager of the RR team and can carry a phone inside the playing venue and can also use it if necessary, but he has been penalized for using it outside the designated area, which was the locker room.

He was near the dugout, and it was up for debate whether he was technically inside it, and footage later revealed that he was sitting in front of the refrigerator, which puts him outside the designated area.

The BCCI’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) charged him for using the mobile phone near the players’ dugout. No formal sanction has been issued and it is unlikely that he will receive one according to the latest reports from Cricbuzz. However, they have confirmed that a serious suspension or ban is unlikely.

Rajasthan Royals manager to be relieved, citing health issues

The Cricbuzz report further stated that the BCCI considers the manager’s actions to be reckless and indiscreet, but mentioned that he had no malicious intent or intention to cause the offence.

“He also appears to have serious health problems. The ACSU will make the final decision, but at first glance this does not appear to be a major violation,” the source said.

The BCCI source close to Cricbuzz also confirmed that he responded within 48 hours of the BCCI call and also tendered an apology. He also informed the board of his concern about his poor health and the seriousness of his condition.

Rajasthan Royals lose no. 1 position against defending champion RCB

Rajasthan Royals led the scoring this season, with four consecutive wins. The Royals, on the other hand, finally ended their winning streak with a loss to the Sunrisers Hyderabad as the uncapped pacers stemmed the flow of runs from the young Indians in the RR line-up.

Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru also won four matches and have now moved to the top of the points table with eight points for the season. RCB has taken the first position, while the Royals have fallen to the fourth position. If Punjab Kings manage to win their next match, they could rise further to the top while RCB and RR would fall.
