Punjab Kings’ two-run loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday (April 9) once again showed the importance of every run in the T20 format.

One run is enough to decide the fate of any team in the shortest format of the game and the Gujarat Titans will hope not to be punished for a comical mistake that cost them not one but four precious runs in the ongoing game against Rajasthan Royals. at the Sawai Mansingh stadium in Jaipur.

The incident took place in the ninth innings when left-arm spinner Noor Ahmad was bowling to Royals captain Sanju Samson. On the fifth ball of the over, the Afghan spinner bowled a googly and Samson failed to collect it completely. He ended up taking the ball towards Sai Sudharsan at the point.

With the batsmen leaving for a single, Sudharsan fell short at the non-striker’s end. However, his throw was wayward and the bowler was unable to stop the ball. Mohit Sharma was batting but he too could not stop the ball. The ball passed through his legs before fleeing towards the boundary.
