Chennai Super Kings, on Monday (April 8), produced a brilliant bowling performance to restrict Kolkata Knight Riders to a modest total in the ongoing game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

KKR arrived in Chennai after scoring 208, 186 and 272 runs in their first three games of IPL 2024. However, the two-time IPL champions could not replicate those batting performances against the reigning champions. Asked to bat first, KKR finished their innings with 137 for 9 in the allotted 20 overs.

Tushar Deshpande gave the hosts a flying start by dismissing Phil Salt for a duck on the first ball of the game. It was followed by a 56-run stand between Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Ravindra Jadeja dismissed them both in the seventh over to reduce KKR to 60 for 3 from 56 for 1 and the visitors simply could not recover from those two setbacks.
